The Profound Action Lineage

The Profound Action Lineage is one of the core transmission lineages of the Drikung Kagyü Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
This transmission originates with the Buddha Śākyamuni and was transmitted to Bodhisattva Maitreya in the Sambogakaya realm who later revealed it to Asanga (ca 290-360). Once in the Nirnmanakaya realm it was tranmitted by way of the Kadampa Order to the founder of the Drikung Kagyü, Jigten Sumgon. The lineage was further passed down to the present day by the various Drikung Lineage Holders.
